The most challenging role, however, and the one which drives the story, belongs to [Annika] Marks. Its not easy portraying outrageousness without taking it over the top. But Marks never does…
-Deborah Klugman, LA Weekly

…no one can deny the absolutely astonishing Geffen debut performance of Ms. Marks. It is a tour de force effort born of two talented creative individuals – Ms. Marks and director Mazor.
Desert Local News

…it is the always astonishing Marks whose Debby will have you mesmerized, disturbed, shocked (often into horrified laughter), and shattered, and whose Deborah will haunt you as she does Max.
-Steven Stanley, StageSceneLA

…the four actor-five character piece is a triumph for Annika Marks, who plays two radically different daughters with such finesse one actor seems to be missing from the curtain call. So Cal Arts & Entertainment

‘Church & State’ Review

Starry Constellation Magazine recently published a well written and insightful feature about ‘Church & State’ on their website. Here’s a snippet on Annika and her role as ‘Alex Klein’:

Annika Marks as Alex Klein, Charlie’s high-strung campaign manager, is a joy to watch. Equipped with the wit and quick-talking abilities of Lorelai Gilmore, the character is immensely likable. Marks flawlessly plays Alex as both a strong ally and an ample match for the Whitmores. The character’s social media savvy is also smartly written, as it can go two ways: an educational tool for audience members not familiar with it and a laugh for those who eat, sleep and breathe it.
